ADSTAR* Distributed Storage Manager for Sun Solaris** (ADSM for Sun
Solaris) provides businesses with a recovery and storage management sol-
ution that manages network storage and protects valuable data found on
diverse desktop-based, UNIX**-based, and Macintosh platforms.
The process of backing up hundreds of workstations and file servers is
labor intensive, time consuming, and costly. With IBM's ADSM for Sun
Solaris, businesses have a storage management solution for their enter-

As a hierarchical storage manager, ADSM for Sun Solaris automates the
backup and archive process, provides easy-to-use and powerful data
recovery capabilities, manages and balances storage resources, and sup-
ports a broad range of network environments and storage devices.
ADSM for Sun Solaris's storage management features include tape
collocation and reclamation, caching, and data compression. ADSM for Sun
Solaris's import-export feature allows businesses to rightsize. Other
ADSM for Sun Solaris's features include easy-to-use, yet powerful graph-
ical user interaces, cross-client recovery, and a variety of
customization, reporting, and auditing facilities.
ADSM for Sun Solaris's broad range of client support includes Apple
Macintosh**, AT&T UNIX**, DEC ULTRIX**, DOS, Hewlett-Packard** HP-UX, IBM
AIX/6000*, IBM OS/2*, Microsoft** Windows**, Novell** NetWare**, SCO**
